At Camp Fire USA, we believe youth benefit from an outdoor experience. Here are a few of the ways:
Learn to cooperate with others
Gain self-esteem
Learn to make friends
Learn to appreciate nature
Our goal at our day camps is to build caring, confident youth and future leaders. Our campers plan and participate in a variety of daily outdoor activities where they learn to be responsible and to accomplish great things together.
Day camp is doing, not watching! Camp Fire teaches campers how to enjoy the outdoors and preserve it for the future. We provide the excitement of camp in a small and personal camp community.
A Typical Day at Day Camp
When you drop off your campers, they go to their small groups where counselors check them in and make sure they are ready to go for the day
The day begins with songs, a flag ceremony or fun warm-up activities
Each small group starts their morning activities which might include games, crafts, nature activities, archery, boating, learning how to build a fire, hiking, stream stomping and a whole lot more
At lunch, groups eat together at their designated locations. In addition, campers have the opportunity to do some outdoor cooking during the week
In the afternoon, campers enjoy more activities before getting ready to go home
After clean-up and the final gathering at the end of the day, you pick your child up from camp
On the way home, you hear all the great things that happened at camp that day!
