VIRTUAL CLUBS

Camp Fire Green Country is excited to offer virtual clubs through our school and community partners and now clubs open to the public!

These clubs will use a combination of online engagement and sent home activities to help your youth learn, grow, and thrive. For youth to participate in the clubs they must have use of an email address (can be parent or guardian's email address) and internet access on a computer, laptop, tablet, phone, or another device.

Space in open-enrollment clubs is limited. See below for information on the types of clubs being offered.

JUMP AROUND CLUB

Starts June 2021

Wednesdays 5:00 - 6:00 PM

Ages 8-10 (incoming 3rd-5th grade)

This spark-inspired club allows youth the chance to get up and get active! In these challenging times, youth need a place where they can release energy and let off steam. In this club we will talk about physical activity, the importance of staying active, what maintaining a balanced diet entails, and how youth can easily incorporate physical activity into their daily lives. Youth will also have the chance to talk about their future endeavors, explore passions, and be provided with supplies to stay fit. Registration is available for youth grades 3-5. Youth must have a device and access to the internet to participate in this fully virtual club.

DISCOVERY CLUB

Starts June 2021

Thursdays 5:00 - 6:00 PM

Ages 11-13 (incoming 6th-8th grade)

Our Discovery clubs are tailored specifically to our 6th-8th grade community. Come connect with other young people to discover what you’re passionate about and make plans to push

beyond obstacles. In this virtual club, you can expect to gain confidence and community while focusing on what really makes you, you. Clubs are facilitated by trained adult leaders, but many of the activities will be curated by our participants! No previous experience in a Camp Fire club needed.

FILM CLUB

Starts June 2021

Tuesdays 2:00- 3:00 PM

Ages 14-18 (incoming 9th-12th grade)

In Film Club youth will watch scenes from movies and television to engage in meaningful discussion about film through both a critical and creative eye. Youth will also have the unique opportunity to talk to actual professionals in the film industry. This club will give youth a chance to learn more about movies and get new insight into the industry as a whole. We hope to create a safe space where youth can explore new ideas and look at film in a different way. No prior knowledge is required, this club is for anyone that has seen a movie and enjoyed it. (Bonus points if you know what’s in the box or what Rosebud is) The club is fully virtual, must have access to an internet device.  Registration is available for youth grades 9-12. Youth must have a device and access to internet to participate in this club.

STARFLIGHT CLUB

Starts June 2021

Thursdays 5:00 - 6:00 PM

Ages 5-7 (incoming K-2nd grade)

The Starflight club is developed for youth in grades K-2 to explore their Sparks, learn new skills, and build strong relationships. Through a mixture of virtual games, crafts, and discussions, youth build relationships and tap into their passions -- so they can thrive and contribute to their communities. This club is designed completely for virtual facilitation. Youth must have a device and access to the internet to participate.

Dungeons & Dragons – New Players

Starts June 2021

Mondays & Tuesdays 3:30-5:00 PM

Ages 11-18 (incoming 6th-12th grade)

D&D Club is a program focused on the gameplay of the notorious roleplaying game, 'Dungeons and Dragons.' A team of adventurers (club members) is immersed in a pseudo-medieval world of sword-and-sorcery run by the Dungeon Master (club leader), who narrates settings, events, and adapts the emerging game to youths' free actions and decisions. The world of the game is orally constructed and conjured in the imagination, with the help of rule books, reference guides, charts, multifaceted dice, and maps. Registration is available for youth grades 6-12. Youth must have a device and access to internet to participate in this club. This section is intended for youth with no prior D&D experience.

People Respecting Individuality, Diversity, and Equity (PRIDE) Club is now enrolling youth in 6th-12th grade who are interested in leadership, activism, social issues, and having fun with their community!
