Camp Fire Green Country is excited to offer virtual summer clubs for 2020.
These clubs will use a combination of online engagement and sent home activities to help your youth learn, grow, and thrive. For youth to participate in the clubs they must have use of an email address (can be parent or guardian's email address) and internet access on a computer, laptop, tablet, phone, or another device.
Virtual summer clubs will begin in mid-July. Space is limited. See below for information on the types of clubs being offered.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Club is focused on using fun, interactive activities to help youth develop their science and math skills. Youth will have the opportunity to use online resources to walk them through hands-on activities that will be mailed to them weekly and participate in virtual reflection sessions with other participants and Camp Fire leaders to discuss what they've learned.
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Club is a program concentrated on youth experience the role-playing game "Dungeons & Dragons." A team of adventurers (club participants) is immersed in a pseudo-medieval world of sword-and-sorcery run by the Dungeon Masters (club leaders), who narrate setting and events and adapt the emerging game to youths' free action and decisions. The world of the game is orally constructed and conjured in the imagination with the help of rule books, reference guides, charts, and maps. This club is for 6th-12th graders (those entering 6th grade this school year are invited to join), and is appropriate for both beginner and experienced D&D players. Youth must have access to the internet via phone, tablet, computer, or other device to join.
Youth of Color Enrichment Club provides a safe online space for youth to explore their identities and discover community. Each week’s activities will allow youth to explore different identities and aspects of community. Our goal is to help youth step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves, by learning about their own identities and others. We aim to help youth learn leadership through education of culture, identities, and how that shapes the unique people they are.
In Fashion Club youth will be empowered through activities and discussion around body positivity, self-expression, individuality, self-care, creativity, and more! This club will allow youth to shape club projects to further explore their unique interests, and participate in weekly creative challenges. There will be opportunities to learn about careers in the arts and how to pursue the creative aspirations in Tulsa. We aim to create a safe space where youth feel free to explore outside of their comfort zone and open their eyes to new sparks!
Young people want to shape the world.
Camp Fire provides the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
In Camp Fire, it begins now.
